To-Do List of my Lifetime

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

A couple of weeks ago I posted esquire’s 75 things a man should do before he dies. I included some things from that list as well as my own personal items. Some of these things might seem silly but I’m pretty sure after sky diving you will fell much different. The list will start with the items I agree with esquire and items italic are items personally accomplished.

No. 1 Play a Team Sport

Playing a team sport of any kind has a huge affect on you. The feeling of winning, team play, practice, responsibility you have to your team. There is a great feeling to play your part in a team. I’m not just talkin about out door sports, I’m talkin about all type of activities the involve more than just yourself. I have even been part of a Clan for a PC game called Battlefield Vietnam and at the moment I coach Pee Wee soccer.

No. 2 Learn to Fix something

It feels good when someone come to you fix something. Or just to be known as the guy that can fix things. I have been asked to fix their computers and for another special gift that I cant mention on here (you know what I’m talkin about Gorda)

No. 3 Fly a Plane

I know flying lessons are expensive and well it just takes to many hours to even be allowed to fly on your own. So unless you have a rich friend that has a private plane this will actually be hard to accomplish.

Road Trip to Mexico

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

As you all have notice that I have been absent for the past 2 weeks. I just took off with my uncle that exports cars to Juarez. I haven’t taken a road trip since last year when I went off to Oklahoma City. It was a lonely trip even thou my uncle was there with me. The road trip was a good alone time to think about so many things in my life. I wanted my Gorda to be with me so bad, but yet I had to be away from so many things.

My route was I-75 from Ocala, FL north to I-10 heading west all the way to El Paso. Day One was all the way to Beaumont Tx. Our first stop to by diesel was just outside of Pensacola at a Pilot truck stop. We prepaid $80 but the pump stopped at $45. We went inside to bitch and turns out they ran out of diesel. No problem for us we will just head to next stop but the long ass line of Semi Trucks out to almost the Interstate. Somebody is gonna lose their job for not ordering enough, or the delievery guy is late. We wanted to drive at least till midnight but we spent hours finding a Hotel, every Hotel that was stopped was no vacancy. All Hotels full of hurricane relief workers. We were about 40 miles from Galveston Tx where most of the damage was done. From Lake Charles to Houston most of the street signs were knocked over, most gas stations were running off Generators.

Cozumel Cruise

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Almost late to the damn boat. I could of sworn the boat left at 5pm. We had 15 min for me to park the car, check in and be on the boat. The lady pretty much told us we werent gonna make it but just about as I was running my ass back from the parking lot(which I badly parked because i was in a hurry got a $100 ticket) Mi Gorda called me up and said not to rush. A bus full of passengers, also running late, kept the boat from leaving.

Tired from running

Heres my tired ass from running 3 blocks from Parking lot to the terminal. I walked the last block when Gorda called me up and said not to rush anymore. (Once again thanks to those late bus riders) We did have to carry all our luggage since baggage claim was already closed. Checking In took about 3 min since we were the only ones left. The bus group that thank God showed up seemed to be all together, so they took a while to check in.

After getting on the boat and hauling our luggage all the way to our rooms, the boat set sail leaving Miami. Tug boats followed all the way, passing South Beach, and a huge Home land Security Helicopter flew by us twice.

lunch

Buffet just about 24 hours a day. The average person gains 2lbs a day on a cruise. I gained 6lbs in the 5 days out to sea. The menus were not so good as back in December on our Bahama Cruise. Pretty much same menu everyday which well made it boring. The Deli was basiclly my favorite, pastrami on rye anytime I wanted.

The dinning dinner was different everyday. They were open for lunch and dinner. There it had a more resturant feel, you know where you sit and waiter comes brings you bread soup and what not. The meals were good but the servings were small(well normal but small compared the buffet servings).

gorda and mi

The first night we spent it moving around the boat getting to know all the areas and floors. We hung out at the lounge are had us some stoogies in the Cigar Bar. Drinks were around $6-7 each. My tab for drinks during the whole cruise was about $200. Much less than last cruise of about $500.

The casino was ok, I usually play the roulette table but didnt play much this time. No single deck blackjack, I prefer the single deck over the 5 deck. The casino didnt bring much for me this time. Over all playing I ended up losing about $60. Many slots but I sure as hell dont play that.

Conga line up on the deck of the ship. Some reggae group were playing the whole night with regae and calipso music. The weather was great, windy at times but good enought to stay up there. Calipso chick was cute. Didnt take pic of here for obvious reasons, but didnt manage to take some video of one of her best songs.

Bon Voyage!

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

Mi Gorda and me are gone for the entire week of the 14th thru 18th to Cozumel, Mexico. I’m not gonna have any kind of contact with the outside world since damn cruises boats charge so damn much for internet access that not worth it, and I swear its fucking slower than Dial Up. This trip is to cut the outside world anyways, but Boat (Carnival Fascination) takes off Monday at 5pm and sail the night and wake up in Key West for the day of Tuesday. Then all day Wednesday in Cozumel and the whole day Thursday out to sea and be home Friday. This will be our second cruise that we will experince. We just love to getway.
